Hill Impact Program
This free program offers individuals interested in law enforcement an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in this profession. Applicants 15-18 can enroll in one of six regional Hill Impact Programs across the Commonwealth. The program begins in mid-January. Cadets meet one day a week in the evening.
The multi-phased training consists of an 11-week course that focuses on:
- History of the PA State Police
- Principles of Law Enforcement
- Paramilitary Disciplines
- Physical Fitness

LOCATION: Hershey, Erie, Greensburg, State College, Wilkes-Barre and Philadelphia
AGES: 15 TO 18
Law And Leadership
Are you 18 years of age or older and interested in a career in law enforcement? Explore the path to becoming a cadet by joining us for this free 15-week course.
The Law and Leadership Academy offers individuals the opportunity to experience the process of becoming a cadet in a law enforcement training environment. Applicants 18 years or older who have graduated from high school or earned a GED may enroll in one of six regional Academy programs across the Commonwealth. The program begins in early May and continues through early August. Cadets meet twice a week, with occasional Saturday sessions throughout the program.
This multi-phase program consists of a 15-week training and education focused on:
- Physical Fitness
- Paramilitary Discipline
- Law Enforcement Education
- Time and Stress Management Skills
- Hands-On Practicums
DATE: Begins in early May and runs through early August
LOCATION: Hershey, Erie, Greensburg, State College, Wilkes-Barre and Philadelphia
AGES: 18 or older who have graduated high school or have GED
